Today (Wednesday) afternoon, the Prime Minister made these remarks in response to a supplementary question on the fourth day of the second and first budget session of the thirteenth National Parliament. The session was chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram.

In response to a supplementary question from Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Kasem in Parliament, the Prime Minister spoke about the development and scope of work of reserved seat women MPs. Although directly elected MPs have specific constituencies, women MPs do not have specific constituencies under the constitution or law. However, based on political or organizational structure, some areas have been designated for their work from party positions.

Stating that both directly elected representatives and women MPs have the right to work for the development of the area, the Prime Minister said, 'We are moving forward according to government rules regarding development. If there is anything I can do to help with the development of your area, let me know, I will try to provide direct assistance.'

Later, in response to a question from MP Anisur Rahman, the Prime Minister highlighted the balanced development of the country and the government's attitude of cooperation towards the opposition.

Referring to a meeting held under the leadership of the Speaker, the Prime Minister said, 'A few days ago, there was a committee meeting on how the parliament would function. The opposition leader was also there. He mentioned that some opposition MPs might not have received some assistance provided by the government (LGED) before Eid. Coming out of that meeting, I immediately instructed both the LGED Minister and Deputy Minister to take swift action if any opposition MP had not received it.'

Tareq Rahman said, 'The current government believes in equal development of the country. Just as ruling party MPs will develop their areas, there will be full government cooperation for the areas of opposition members as well. We will try to work equally.'

When MP Anisur Rahman asked whether there would be any discussion with the opposition to stop the propaganda against the ruling party despite the government's development cooperation, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said, 'I think we need to wait more on this matter. It has just started, let us wait and see.'

Then Prime Minister Tareq Rahman said, 'This government is elected by the people, believes in democracy, and is accountable to the people. So if there is any constructive criticism, we will certainly accept it and take steps accordingly.'
