Liton leaves the country for Zimbabwe, may play the last two ODIs
After recovering from injury, Bangladesh national cricket team wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das has finally left the country for Zimbabwe. Following satisfactory progress in the rehabilitation process, he left the country on Wednesday (July 1). If all goes well, he may take the field in the last two matches of the ODI series against Zimbabwe.

Due to a Grade-1 tear in the calf muscle of his left leg, Liton could not travel to Zimbabwe with the Test team and later the ODI team. After completing rehabilitation under the supervision of doctors and physios, he has now departed to join the squad.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh ODI team has arrived in Zimbabwe and started preparations. Liton's inclusion is expected to increase both experience and depth in the team's batting department.

Liton has been one of Bangladesh's most reliable batters in limited-overs cricket in recent times. However, he is unlikely to play in the first ODI scheduled for July 6. He has nearly a week to regain fitness before the second ODI on July 9.

His physical condition will be closely monitored over the next few days. If everything goes favorably, the right-handed batter may be seen again in Bangladesh's jersey in the second ODI.

Earlier, Bangladesh faced the bitter experience of losing by an innings in the only Test against Zimbabwe after 25 years. Now the team's goal is to bounce back in the limited-overs series.

The first match of the three-match ODI series will be held at Harare Sports Club on July 6, the second match on July 9, and the third and final match on July 11. After that, the two teams will face each other in a three-match T20 series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 15, 17, and 19.
