Not just humans, no animal should fall victim to cruelty
Prime Minister Tareq Rahman said the government is working to build a state where everyone can live safely regardless of religion, caste or identity. At the same time, the government is aware that not only humans but also no animal should fall victim to cruelty.

He said these things at the inaugural ceremony of the 'Nazrul Year' celebration organized at the Secretariat in the capital on Thursday (July 2). At the event, the Prime Minister officially inaugurated the year-long 'Nazrul Year' activities.

The government is observing a year-long 'Nazrul Year' on the occasion of the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Its duration is from May 25, 2026 to May 25, 2027.

It is to be noted that on the last May 25, Prime Minister Tareq Rahman announced the observance of a year-long 'Nazrul Year' at the 127th birth anniversary event of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in Trishal, Mymensingh. The program began on Thursday with the formal inauguration of that announcement.
