US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is interested in reaching an agreement with the United States. He also said that Washington has given one week for the funeral of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Trump made these remarks in a speech at the opening ceremony of the United States' 250th founding anniversary celebration at Mount Rushmore on Friday (July 3) night.
In the speech, highlighting US military capabilities, global politics, and communism, Trump said, “We defeated Venezuela in one day, and we hit Iran very hard. They are now desperate to reach an agreement.”
He further said, “We gave them one week for Khamenei's funeral, because we are good people.”
However, there was no immediate reaction from Iran regarding Trump's remarks. Additionally, it could not be independently confirmed whether the US had officially set such a deadline regarding Khamenei's funeral.
