The achievement of August 5 belongs to everyone, not revenge—unity is the path forward: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said the achievement of August 5 does not belong to any individual or single political party; it is a collective achievement of all the people of the country. He called for moving the country forward on the basis of national unity, avoiding the politics of revenge.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the 'July National Conference-2026' organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, mourning and victory at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, the capital on Saturday (July 4).

The Prime Minister said that all murders will be ensured to be tried according to the law. However, he urged everyone concerned to be cautious so that no injustice occurs in the name of the judicial process.

He further said that the government will evaluate the sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the July movement with the highest respect. Stating that development is not possible by dividing the nation, he said the main goal of the government is to ensure the country's development and the improvement of the people's standard of living.

Earlier, at the conference, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed over the 'July Memorial' in honor of the families of the martyrs and the injured fighters of the July-August mass uprising. At the event, the memorials were given to the representatives of the martyr families and the injured.
