Anisur Rahman appointed as new Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank

On Monday (July 6), the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, Anisur Rahman has been appointed as Deputy Governor on condition of voluntary retirement from his current position of Executive Director and suspension of post-retirement leave (PRL). He will serve for three years from the date of joining.

In a separate notification issued on the same day, the remaining tenure of the contractual appointment of Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Zakir Hossain Chowdhury has been canceled.

It is to be noted that on September 8, 2024, by the decision of the interim government, Zakir Hossain Chowdhury was given a contractual appointment as Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank for three years.
