On Tuesday (July 7), at a regular press conference organized at the Secretariat to highlight the government's recent activities, the Prime Minister's Policy and Strategy Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman provided this information.
Schedule in August, UP election may be in October: PM's adviser
He said, the Election Commission has prepared a preliminary roadmap ahead of the local government elections. Separate plans have been made for each election: Union Parishad, Upazila Parishad, Municipality, and City Corporation.
Zahed Ur Rahman informed that these roadmaps may be finalized and published at the end of the current month of July. After that, there is a plan to announce the schedule for Union Parishad elections in the second half of August and hold voting in the first half of October.

He further informed that the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum will be inaugurated before August 5.
Earlier, on Monday (July 6), at an event, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud said, the Election Commission is moving forward with preparations targeting October for the local government elections. At the same event, Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah informed that all necessary pre-preparations for the local government elections have already been completed.
