According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, due to active monsoon winds, the tendency of thundershowers will increase in various parts of the country. In some places, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur.
Heavy rain warning for next 24 hours, storm risk in 14 districts
In the forecast signed by meteorologist AKM Nazmul, it has been said that in some parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, heavy rainfall of 44 to 88 millimeters and very heavy rainfall of more than 88 millimeters may occur.
Due to very heavy rainfall, temporary waterlogging may occur in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolitan areas. Besides, there is also a risk of landslides in the hilly areas of Chittagong division.

On the other hand, in the warning given for inland river ports, it has been said that temporary gusty or stormy winds may blow from the south or southeast direction at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour over Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions. There is also a possibility of thundershowers during this time.
For this reason, the river ports in the concerned areas have been asked to display cautionary signal number 1 re-number 1.
The Meteorological Department has advised taking necessary precautions following the latest weather forecast.
