He breathed his last at 4:19 am on Sunday (July 12). BNP leader Barrister Nasir Uddin Asim confirmed the matter.
Jamir Uddin Sarker was born on December 1, 1931 in Nayabari village of Tetulia upazila in Panchagarh district.
He served as the Speaker of the Eighth National Parliament. He also served as the acting President of Bangladesh for a brief period in 2002.
