Fisheries and Livestock Minister and State Minister mourn the death of Jamir Uddin Sarkar

Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid and Fisheries and Livestock State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku have expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of former Speaker of the National Assembly and BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Jamir Uddin Sarkar.

In separate condolence messages on Sunday, they said Jamir Uddin Sarkar was a veteran politician of the country, a skilled parliamentary figure, and a wise leader who believed in democratic values.

The Minister and State Minister said that as Speaker of the National Assembly, he played a vital role in consolidating parliamentary democracy. The nation will remember his contributions to the welfare of the country and its people with respect throughout his long political career.

They further said that the country has lost an experienced, wise, and dedicated politician with the death of Jamir Uddin Sarkar.

It is noted that Barrister Jamir Uddin Sarkar passed away on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Shyamoli, Dhaka. He was 94 years old at the time of his death.
