On Tuesday (July 14) around 4:45 PM, Md. Miraj Hossain, an HSC examinee from City College, made this announcement on behalf of the protesting students at the Science Lab area in the capital.

He said the Education Minister must resign by 6 PM and apologize to the nation for his recent 'inconsistent' remarks.

The students' demands include—re-conducting the exams for those who took them in adverse conditions on July 13 and those who could not take them; postponing the scheduled exams for the coming days and publishing a new timetable; and making the question papers consistent with the students' curriculum and preparation.

Students participating in the sit-in program chanted various slogans demanding the resignation of the Education Minister. They alleged that although the protest has been ongoing since morning, no one from the government has come to talk to them yet.
