On the last trading day of the week, Thursday (July 16), the country's main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), saw a significant drop in indices along with a decrease in trading volume. Most of the companies that traded on the day saw their share prices fall.

According to the data, the DSE's main price index, DSEX, fell by 25.91 points to 5,090 points.

On the other hand, the DSES index decreased by 2.8 points to stand at 1,206 points. However, the DS-30 index rose by 15.27 points to reach 2,227 points.
At the end of the day, a total of Tk 1,118 crore 24 lakh worth of shares and units were traded on the DSE. The previous trading day saw a trading volume of Tk 1,515 crore 91 lakh. Accordingly, trading decreased by nearly Tk 398 crore in a single day.

On the day, a total of 395 companies' shares and units were traded on the DSE. Among them, 103 companies' share prices increased, 240 companies' prices decreased, and 52 companies' prices remained unchanged.
