Short-term flood risk in 7 districts next week
According to the forecast, the water levels of the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers may rise over the next three days and exceed danger levels at several points. As a result, short-term floods may occur in some low-lying areas of Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur, Gaibandha, and Kurigram.
Additionally, the water of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna river may flow near or above warning levels in some areas of Kurigram, Gaibandha, Jamalpur, and Bogura. This raises the risk of temporary flooding in adjacent low-lying areas.
