He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Chalibandar Mahashmashan Complex in Sylhet on Friday (July 17) morning.
The minister said that religious institutions have an important role to play in protecting the youth society from various social vices including drugs. He called for building the youth as humane and value-oriented citizens through religious rituals, moral education and guidance of religious leaders.
He further said that families, society and religious institutions must collectively take responsibility to ensure that young people do not go astray.
The event was attended by the Administrator of Sylhet City Corporation, the District Commissioner, the Additional Police Commissioner, the Assistant High Commissioner of India, the authorities of the Mahashmashan Complex, and officials from various government and private institutions.
