He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a reception program for students who achieved excellence in the primary scholarship examination, organized by the Baufal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, held at the Baufal Upazila Auditorium in Patuakhali on Friday (July 17) at 11:30 AM.
Dr. Masud said that the biggest strength of a country is its educated, skilled, and moral human resources. Those who have achieved scholarships today are not only the pride of their families but of the entire Baufal. This achievement of theirs will lay the foundation for even greater success in the future.
He further said that it is not enough to only acquire knowledge from textbooks; students must also be enriched with morality, honesty, discipline, patriotism, and human values. The leadership of tomorrow will be built by the hands of these talented students of today.
Emphasizing the importance of gaining proficiency in science, technology, and modern knowledge, he said that to survive in global competition, students have no alternative but to become adept in modern education. Alongside this, parents and teachers must also play an important role in raising children as ideal and responsible citizens.
The program was presided over by Md. Arifur Rahman, President of the Baufal Upazila branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. Special guests present included former central leader of Chhatra Shibir Advocate Mujahidul Islam, President of Barisal Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir Mohammad Atikul Islam, President of Patuakhali District Chhatra Shibir K. M. Tamim, District Secretary Aminul Islam Sohel, former District President Rakibul Islam Nur, and former President of Baufal Upazila Chhatra Shibir Limon Hossain.
At that time, scholarship-receiving students from various educational institutions in the upazila, their parents, teachers, dignitaries, and leaders and workers of Chhatra Shibir were present. Later, commemorative crests, certificates, and gifts were handed over to the meritorious students.
Participating in the reception program, Jobayer Ahmed San, a student of Daspara Model Government Primary School, said he was delighted to have achieved the scholarship. This honor has inspired him to study better in the future and work for the country and its people.
Another student, Rezwana Binte Rafiq, said she is grateful to the organizers for valuing their success. This honor will provide confidence and encouragement to achieve even better results in the future.
