Investors demand 6 points including cancellation of script netting
Bangladesh Capital Market Investors' United Council (BCMIUC) has demanded six points including immediate cancellation of the decision to introduce script netting (intraday trading). On Sunday (July 19) afternoon, leaders of the organization handed over a memorandum containing these demands during a courtesy meeting with Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Masud Khan.

Along with welcoming the newly appointed chairman, the leaders of the organization exchanged views on the current situation of the capital market. At that time, BCMIUC President A N M Ataullah Naim handed over the memorandum. Present were the organization's General Secretary Sheikh Atik Ikhtiar, Senior Vice President AQM Siddique Ullah, Vice President Zahirul Alam Jamal, Senior General Secretary Md. Nizam Uddin and Joint Secretary Md. Mohiuddin.

Cancel the decision to introduce script netting (intraday trading) and maintain the existing transaction system.

Coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and Bangladesh Bank to arrange compensation or refund of investment for shareholders of the five merged banks.

Stop irregularities related to FDR of mutual funds and ensure arrangements for deposits in first-class banks according to the law.

Make it mandatory for listed banks to publish financial information more transparently so that investors can make decisions based on accurate information.

Refund the money of investors who did not get placement share allocation and investigate and take legal action against the concerned companies.

For companies in the textile sector, arrange for the publication of audited financial reports every six months instead of unaudited reports every three months.

In the memorandum, the organization said that if these demands are implemented quickly, investors' confidence in the capital market will increase and investment security will be ensured.
