Air Force Wing Commander Saifur Rahman, accused in Elias Ali abduction-murder case, taken into custody

According to the Air Force authorities, necessary legal action will be taken against him in accordance with the existing laws of the country.

It is known that on June 21, 2026, in a case of crimes against humanity involving over a hundred abductions and murders at the International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh Army Warrant Officer Imrul Kayes's deposition implicated Wing Commander Md. Saifur Rahman in the abduction and murder of BNP leader M. Elias Ali.

At that time, then Squadron Leader Md. Saifur Rahman was serving in the Intelligence Wing of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Notably, Wing Commander Md. Saifur Rahman is the son-in-law of the daughter of former Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Army, General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed.

However, no immediate comment was available from Wing Commander Md. Saifur Rahman or his lawyer. The judicial process regarding the allegations is ongoing.
