Prime Minister handed over appointment letters to three disabled persons
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman started the day's program on Thursday (July 30) morning at the Bangladesh Secretariat by handing over government job appointment letters to three disabled persons.

He handed over the appointment letters to them as they entered his office in the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat.

According to concerned sources, these appointments were made with the aim of making disabled persons self-reliant through employment and integrating them into the mainstream of society.

The appointees are—Ayesha Akter of Saghata Upazila in Gaibandha, Nila Khatun of Kamarkhand Upazila in Sirajganj, and Md. Hasmat Ali of Narail Sadar Upazila.

All three expressed joy after receiving the appointment letters directly from the Prime Minister. They said that this appointment has opened new doors of opportunity in their lives.

Nila Khatun, who is physically disabled, has been living without both hands since birth. She completed her post-graduation by writing with her feet. She has been appointed as a teacher at the National Disability Development Foundation in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Ayesha Akter also completed her post-graduation by writing with her feet without both hands. She received the appointment letter from the Prime Minister with her mouth. She has been appointed as a class supervisor at Biam Laboratory School and College in Gaibandha.

Meanwhile, visually impaired Md. Hasmat Ali has been appointed as a union social worker under the Department of Social Services.

At that time, Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Professor Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Farzana Sharmin Putul, Social Welfare Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Managing Director of Bangladesh Disability Development Foundation Md. Tariqul Alam, and Director General of the Department of Social Services Shah Mohammad Mahbub were present.

Founder of Bangladesh Disabled Welfare Association Abdus Sattar Dulal thanked the Prime Minister for welcoming the initiative to appoint three disabled persons to government jobs. After the appointment letter distribution, he met the Prime Minister and expressed gratitude.
