After the video of his remarks spread across social media, criticism began to emerge from various quarters. However, Asaduzzaman Mintu claimed that it was a political statement, no such incident actually occurred, and the recruitment test was completed peacefully.

According to upazila BNP sources, a joint meeting was organized in Shyamkur Union on July 25 as part of strengthening party activities ahead of the local government and national parliamentary elections. In his speech as the chief guest at that meeting, Asaduzzaman Mintu said, "Tomorrow is the recruitment test for the Family Card. If any Jamaat-e-Islami worker is found there, their hands and legs will be broken."

In the same speech, he called on female supporters to remain vigilant about Jamaat's "misleading propaganda." He also emphasized the importance of observing religious practices such as prayer (namaz), recitation of the Quran, and paying fitra (charity).

After the video went viral, Asaduzzaman Mintu explained his remarks, saying that after the upazila administration published the notice for the recruitment test, leaders and activists of Jamaat at various levels had been posting various adverse comments and posts on social media about it. He made that statement in reaction to them.

He said, "It was entirely a political statement. On political platforms, such counter-statements are often made. There is no scope to view it as any actual directive."

He further claimed that the Family Card recruitment test was subsequently held in a peaceful environment, and no candidate's political or religious identity was taken into consideration there.
