"Awami League is pleased when someone speaks against BNP": Narayanganj Jamaat Ameer
Narayanganj Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Abdul Jabbar has commented that if a rift is created between the BNP and Jamaat, the Awami League will benefit politically. He said, "Awami League is pleased when someone speaks against the BNP. They think if BNP and Jamaat quarrel, they will be the ones to gain."

He made these remarks at a brief rally before a mass procession organized by the metropolitan Jamaat on Saturday (August 1) afternoon in Chashara, Narayanganj city, demanding the implementation of the July Charter.

Urging the BNP, Abdul Jabbar said that the July Charter must be implemented by introducing a new bill in parliament. Otherwise, they will have to face accountability to the people. At the same time, he alleged that signs of fascist tendencies are visible within the BNP. He also claimed that BNP leaders and activists carried out attacks on Jamaat workers in Araihazar.

Referring to the BNP Secretary General's statement, he said that to eliminate corruption, one must first take action against corrupt individuals within one's own party. He alleged that the trial process of cases filed against those accused in various crimes, including student killings in Narayanganj, is progressing slowly.

The Jamaat leader demanded that former influential Awami League leader Shamim Osman and his associates be brought under the law swiftly, accusing them of student killings, torture, and extortion.

Addressing the administration, Abdul Jabbar said that duties must be performed according to the Constitution and the law, free from political influence. He alleged that family members of martyrs in various parts of the country are still suffering from insecurity, and Awami League associates are intimidating them.

He further said that those carrying out terrorist activities under the patronage of political parties must be brought under legal action swiftly. He also called for building a neutral administration to fulfill the expectations of the people.
