In a press release issued on Saturday (August 1), Petrobangla said the government has no decision or plan to raise gas prices at this moment. Consumers and stakeholders have been urged not to be confused by such news.

No plan to increase gas prices, Petrobangla says
Recently, after various media published reports on the possibility of gas price hikes, concerns were created among industrial, commercial and residential consumers.
Meanwhile, due to a technical fault at a floating LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, gas supply to the national grid has decreased. This has impacted households, industries and power generation. Additionally, due to the gas crisis, fuel supply to CNG stations has also been disrupted, increasing suffering for passengers and transport-related people.

However, Petrobangla has reiterated that despite the ongoing supply shortage, there is no initiative to increase gas prices.
