Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The government should not forget the oppression of the past 17 years. We are not seeing anything new. The suppression of the opposition party is continuing as before."
He further said, "Why is the verdict of 70 percent of the people being disregarded? The consequences of ignoring the mandate of the 1970 elections led to the events of the 1971 Liberation War."

Referring to the BNP, the Jamaat Ameer said, "Sometimes the BNP jabs us regarding the 1996 elections. However, it was because of our selfless support in 1991 that the BNP was able to form the government."
He also alleged that people are being appointed to constitutional and impartial institutions like the Election Commission based on partisan considerations, which raises questions about the neutrality of these institutions.
During the event, he emphasized the importance of ensuring free and fair elections, democracy, and the neutrality of state institutions.
