He said these things while talking to journalists after taking part in tree plantation programmes at various places in Chatmohar and Faridpur upazilas of Pabna on Sunday (August 2).
People have started getting benefits of government development activities: BMDA Chairman Tuhin
As part of the countrywide programme to plant 25 crore trees in five years, the BMDA chairman inaugurated the activities in the Chalan Beel area. Later, he planted saplings of various fruit, timber and medicinal plants.
Hasan Jafir Tuhin said the current government has taken various initiatives to accelerate development activities since assuming office. In particular, several development plans have been undertaken for Pabna-3 constituency, which will be implemented in phases.

He said, to make the Prime Minister's announced programme of planting 25 crore trees in five years successful, trees must be planted extensively in every area of the country. There is no alternative to tree plantation to protect environmental balance, tackle climate change impacts and ensure a safe environment for future generations.
The BMDA chairman further said, everyone, irrespective of party and opinion, must participate in this programme. The responsibility will not end with just planting trees; their regular care must also be ensured. He urged everyone to learn from past experiences and implement the programme with 100 percent success this time.
Present at that time were BMDA Pabna Executive Engineer Saifunnahar, Chatmohar Upazila Executive Officer Musa Naser Chowdhury, Faridpur Upazila Executive Officer Umme Imama Banin, Chatmohar Upazila Agriculture Officer Kuntala Ghosh, local administration officials, public representatives, leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies, and people from various walks of life.
