Transfer of 254 Sub-Assistant Engineers of Public Works Department through lottery
To ensure transparency and impartiality, 254 Sub-Assistant Engineers (E/M) of the Public Works Department have been transferred and posted through lottery.

On Monday (August 3), the transfer and posting of these officials and employees to various offices of the country's eight divisions was completed at an event held in the conference room of Purta Bhaban at Segunbagicha in the capital.

According to the lottery results, 119 Sub-Assistant Engineers (E/M) were posted in Dhaka division, 27 in Rajshahi division, 27 in Chattogram division, 27 in Khulna division, 13 in Barishal division, 8 in Sylhet division, 11 in Mymensingh division and 22 in Rangpur division.

The lottery programme was coordinated by Md. Sarwar Alam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. Kazi Md. Firoz Hasan, Additional Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, was present at the time.

Ashraful Haque, Additional Chief Engineer (E/M) of the Public Works Department, said that this lottery-based transfer process will play an important role in establishing transparency, impartiality and discipline in transfers and postings.

Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Member Secretary of the Diploma Engineers Association (Public Works Department Branch), said they welcome the lottery-based transfer process. He expressed hope that discipline would be restored in the department's transfer and posting system through this.

Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Md. Khalequzzaman Chowdhury, Joint Secretary Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Fauzia Khan, Deputy Secretary Khan Md. Nazmus Shoeb, Md. Abu Naser, along with senior officials and engineers of the ministry and the department, were present at the event.

It should be noted that earlier on July 30, 767 Sub-Assistant Engineers (Civil) of the Public Works Department were transferred through the same lottery method.
