Information Adviser warns media not to broadcast Sheikh Hasina's remarks

He made these remarks while responding to questions from journalists at a press conference held at the Secretariat on Tuesday (August 4).

Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman said the government had previously issued a cautionary directive to the media in this regard. If any media outlet broadcasts or publishes Sheikh Hasina's remarks after announcing it in advance, that will amount to violating the court order.

He said the government will once again remind all concerned so that no one takes any action contrary to the court directive. Referring to the legal obligation of individuals and institutions to obey court orders, he said the government's responsibility is to implement the court's decision.

Presenting his personal opinion, the information adviser said that if there were no court ban, he would not be in favor of obstructing the broadcast of Sheikh Hasina's remarks. However, as long as the court order remains in force, it must be followed.

He further said that if anyone does not agree with the court order, they can approach the court and legally challenge the order instead of broadcasting it. But he also noted that until the order remains effective, it must be complied with.
