During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held on further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Qatar, covering port development, maritime trade, logistics, investment, and various other matters of mutual interest.

Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam said the current government is implementing extensive programs to modernize and increase the capacity of the country's port infrastructure. The government is working to elevate Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra ports to international standards. In this context, he called on Qatar to invest in Bangladesh's port infrastructure development, terminal construction, logistics, and related sectors.

The Minister referred to Qatar as a tested friend of Bangladesh and expressed hope that the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two countries would be further expanded through economic and commercial cooperation in the days ahead.

The Qatari Ambassador highly praised the development of Bangladesh's port and shipping sector and expressed positive interest in the prospects of cooperation and investment in this sector.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their determination to work together in various fields, including ports, shipping, trade, and investment, for the mutual welfare of the people of Bangladesh and Qatar. They also emphasized continuing regular communication and cooperation to take the existing friendly relations between the two countries to new heights.

During the meeting, Shipping Ministry Secretary Zakaria and senior officials were present.
