He made these remarks on Wednesday (August 5) at a rally organized by the 11-party alliance at the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital, marking the second anniversary of the July mass uprising.

Nasiruddin Patwari said Bangladesh's future belongs not to any individual but to the people of the country. He alleged that if the verdict of the referendum is not implemented, the people will not accept it, and they will continue their movement to realize the ‘goals of the second liberation war’.

Recalling the July mass uprising, he said the situation across the country was tense at that time and ordinary people took to the streets to make the movement successful. He claimed that farmers, workers, rickshaw pullers, housewives, Islamic scholars and students actively participated in that movement.

He further alleged that during the movement, BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman was not in the country. At the same time, he claimed, if the current government wants to stay in power, it must implement the referendum verdict.

Regarding Bangladesh's sovereignty, Nasiruddin Patwari said the ownership of the country belongs to the people and not to any individual or political party. He alleged that if any decision against the country's interests is taken, the people will resist it from the streets.

The NCP leader further alleged that their party leaders and activists have been attacked in various places and have faced obstacles in receiving medical treatment. He held political opponents responsible for these incidents.

Addressing Hefazat-e-Islam leaders and activists at the rally, he called on them to join the ongoing movement demanding implementation of the referendum verdict, justice for the martyrs and state reforms.

The rally, chaired by Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque, was addressed by various leaders of the 11-party alliance.
