Silver prices also rise after gold, up Tk 292 per bhori

BAJUS announced this in a notice on Thursday (August 6) morning. The new prices became effective from 10am the same day.

BAJUS said that as the price of raw silver (pure silver) increased in the local market, considering the overall situation, the new price of silver including VAT has been fixed.

According to the new prices, 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk 4,899 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 4,666 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 4,024 per bhori and traditional-method silver at Tk 3,033 per bhori.

BAJUS said this price will remain effective at all jewellery establishments in the country until further instructions. However, wages will apply depending on the design of the ornaments. At the same time, since VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. In the case of ornament exchange and purchase, the previous rule will remain in effect excluding specific VAT, wages and stone prices.

Earlier, the price of silver was last adjusted on July 28. At that time, the price of 22-carat silver per bhori was reduced by Tk 59 to Tk 4,607.

According to BAJUS, the price of silver in the domestic market has been adjusted 61 times so far this year. Of these, prices increased 31 times and decreased 30 times. In 2025, the price was adjusted a total of 13 times, of which it increased 10 times and decreased three times.

Meanwhile, on the same day, BAJUS increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 9,856 per bhori to Tk 232,930.
