Remittance $602 million in first 5 days of August
The positive trend in expatriate income has continued since the beginning of the current fiscal year 2026-27. In the first five days of August, remittances of $602 million have arrived in the country, which is 83.7 percent higher than the same period last fiscal year.

According to the latest updated data from Bangladesh Bank, total remittances from July 1 to August 5 amounted to $3.461 billion. During the same period last fiscal year, the amount was $2.806 billion.

According to central bank data, remittance inflows grew by 23.3 percent in the one-year period until August 5 of the current fiscal year.

Bangladesh Bank said that as expatriates continue to send income through legal banking channels, the country's foreign exchange flow is further strengthening. This is playing a positive role in increasing foreign exchange reserves and maintaining macroeconomic stability.
