There is no possibility, yet why this decision?
As the opposition, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and their 11-party alliance have announced participation in the presidential election.

Although they do not have a majority in parliament, there is virtually no possibility of winning the election. Still, the party has decided to field a candidate from the opposition role, which is the first such instance since 1991. Who will be the candidate has not been finalised yet. The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's central executive council in the capital on Saturday night, presided over by Jamaat's Ameer and opposition leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
