Relations between the two countries must be advanced through dialogue on the basis of equality: Home Minister
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said Bangladesh and India are interdependent on each other in many respects, including geographical, social, political and economic contexts. Leaving the past behind, a fresh start is urgent to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries. He said although there are differences on some issues between the two countries, they can be resolved through mutual cooperation and dialogue. Relations must be advanced through discussions on the basis of equality, and India must come forward sincerely in this regard.

He made this call on Monday (August 10) when Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi visited him at his office at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
