He said these during a courtesy meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh Omar Mohie El-Din Ahmed Fahmy at the Ministry of Industries on Monday (August 10).

During the meeting, various issues of mutual interest—especially expansion of investment in industry, increasing trade, exchange of technology and skills, and possibilities of undertaking joint ventures—were discussed.

The Industries Minister said Bangladesh is currently moving forward on the path of industrialization and economic development, and there are vast opportunities for foreign investment in the country's industrial sector. He mentioned the potential to work jointly in various sectors including leather, light engineering, pharmaceuticals, jute and jute products. He said the government is taking various steps to ensure an industry-friendly environment.

The Egyptian Ambassador recalled the historical relations between the two countries and said Egypt is interested in deepening economic and commercial ties with Bangladesh. He emphasized expanding trade and investment by increasing communication between businessmen and industrial entrepreneurs, and assured continued necessary cooperation.

Both sides expressed optimism that industrial, trade and investment cooperation will be further expanded in the future.
