Later, addressing a massive public rally at Kazi Azhar Ali High School ground in Bonarpara, he said, "I have come before you today with a heavy heart. May Allah accept me as a martyr while fighting for the people, for humanity, and for the welfare of the nation."

He recalled enduring 15.5 years of oppression and said they do not wish to return to the path of tyranny. He questioned, "If people are still being deprived at the hands of government activists even after the election and government formation, then what is the meaning of that change?" He reaffirmed his commitment to transform North Bengal into the agricultural capital of the country and said he has raised this demand in parliament and will continue to do so.
Calling the two slain youths "the finest sons of the area," he said, "We do not want any more mothers to lose their children. We do not want a politics of killing." He described greed for power, occupation, and extortion as "filth" in society and called for cleansing it.

Delivering a clear message to the administration, he said, "The administration belongs to no party; it is the asset of the entire nation." He warned, "The people of this country will no longer accept any hegemony. We do not want to live as slaves to anyone."
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman declared, "As long as Allah grants me life and strength, I will remain in the field for the nation." He pledged to build a Bangladesh safe for people of all religions and castes and demanded implementation of the people's verdict through the referendum.
Special guest Maulana Abdul Halim demanded a swift and fair trial of the killers and called for the arrest of the identified culprit 'Palash' within 24 hours. He said, "If you do not rein in terrorism today, the people will once again hold you accountable."
The rally was chaired by Gaibandha-5 MP Abdul Waress and addressed by Jamaat leaders including Assistant Secretary General Abdul Halim, Central Executive member Principal Shahabuddin, Bogura District Ameer Abdul Haque, Gaibandha District Ameer Abdul Karim MP, Maulana Nazrul Islam MP, Professor Majedur Rahman MP, and Chhatra Shibir leaders.
