In the meeting, the Deputy Minister said that there is no alternative to sports in building the future generation physically and mentally healthy. This long-term plan has been taken in light of the Honorable Prime Minister's election manifesto, and its work had begun 2-3 years before the election. Various timely measures, including sports allowances, are being implemented to establish sports not just as entertainment, but as a profession. In addition, the first season of "Notun Kuri Sports", launched to discover new talent across the country, has been successfully completed, and registration for the second season is currently underway.
In the meeting, a massive infrastructural framework was presented to eliminate the field crisis and ensure sports opportunities at all levels. According to the plan, one playground will be constructed for every 2-3 wards of each city corporation, and one modern futsal ground will be built in each ward. The Ministry of Youth and Sports will provide all kinds of necessary support to implement this initiative.
To spread sports practice in villages as well as in cities, an initiative has been taken to build one playground in each union of the country. Through this, a target has been set to build a total of 4,599 new playgrounds across the country.
The meeting expressed strong optimism that this initiative to expand playgrounds will play an important role in building a healthy new generation and realizing a drug-free Bangladesh.
