He said these things as the chief guest at a seminar titled 'Education in Building a Prosperous Economy: Skills, Linguistic Competence and Global Dynamics' at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) auditorium on Tuesday noon.

The education minister further said that in the case of recruiting 77,000 teachers, the recruitment process will be finalised after selection. He made it clear, 'Teachers will receive salaries and allowances, but the results will be zero—this is not acceptable in any way.' He also informed that necessary measures will be taken against educational institutions with zero pass rates.
Regarding the present state of the education system in Bangladesh, the education minister said, 'We are working with a fragile education system. Over the past 20 years, we have fallen further behind. The teacher shortage has taken a terrible shape.'

Regarding SSC exam results, he said, 'It cannot be said that SSC results have dropped. Because is it possible to force anyone to produce results or pass?' He questioned, saying exam results are determined naturally; no coercion works here.
