He said these things as the chief inaugurator at the auspicious inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed 'Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin Academic Building' at Mir Nawabul Haque Memorial High School in Hathazari, Chittagong on Tuesday.

The founder of the school, former minister, mayor and ambassador Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin was present as the chief guest at the event. State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, was present as the inaugurator and unveiled the plaque of the newly constructed academic building.
The State Minister further said, considering the demands of the present age and the global context, it is extremely important to make students proficient in technical education. To implement this goal, the government led by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman has taken revolutionary steps for expansion of technical education alongside general education across the country.
State Minister Mir Helal further said, the previous fascist government had destroyed our education system for 17 long years; the present government is working tirelessly to reform it and build a modern and sustainable education system. Our goal is to build a developed and educated nation as well as create skilled human resources.
At this time, the State Minister Barrister Mir Helal called upon the students and said, to be successful in future career, one must develop oneself as a qualified and standard citizen from now on. At the end of his speech, he announced to award, from his personal side, the full educational expenses for the next one year to the student who secured first place from the school in the SSC (equivalent) examination, in order to encourage them for higher education.
In the chief guest's speech, the founder of the school, former minister, mayor of Chittagong and ambassador Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, recalling memories of Hathazari, said in an emotional voice, I have a blood and soul relationship with the soil of Hathazari. I studied at this Hathazari High School myself. I went to school and returned walking mile after mile with hardship. But we had immense respect, love and attention for our studies.
Addressing guardians and local residents, former minister Mir Nasir said, you should raise your children as honest and principled. They must not get involved in any kind of injustice or wrongdoing. If they live with honesty, they will be able to prosper in life and devote themselves to the welfare of the country. The young generation educated with honesty and good education is the true light of society.
Former minister Mir Nasir further said firmly, there is no place for injustice in our society. If you see any injustice or corruption anywhere, come directly to me or State Minister Mir Helal—we will take immediate strict legal measures.
The program was presided over by the school's head teacher Muhammad Salim Uddin Reza. Present as special guests were school donor member Barrister Israt Naznin Nasir, Hathazari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Muhammad Abdullah Al Mumin, and Executive Engineer of Education Engineering Department, Chittagong Tanvir Islam.
The inauguration ceremony concluded in a joyous atmosphere with the participation of teachers, students and local dignitaries in the school premises.
