He said these things as the chief guest at an event jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Foreign Service Academy today on the occasion of International Youth Day. The event was presided over by State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque.

The minister said this rapid change in technology is a blessing for civilisation, but it is also creating new types of risks. He said young people have comparatively greater ability to adopt new technologies, so providing them with proper training and mental preparation to face the challenges of an AI-dependent future is an important responsibility of the state and society.

He further said the depth of the change we are going through is so great that tomorrow's situation is largely difficult to predict. Therefore, along with conventional education, opportunities must be created for new knowledge, digital capability, creativity and innovative thinking.

The information minister said the youth are not only the asset of any country, they are the asset of the entire human civilisation. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman gives great importance to the youth, and the role of young people in sports, creativity and tackling climate challenges has already received importance at the policy-making level.

He called upon international organisations and said preparing the youth in the era of artificial intelligence means preparing them not only for employment, but for leading the future civilisation. In this regard, he urged the state, educational institutions, the private sector and civil society to work collectively.

At the event, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam and Youth and Sports Secretary Md. Mahbub-ul Alam spoke. Joint Secretary S.M. Zobayed Hossain presented the keynote paper. Director General of the Department of Youth Development Md. Motahar Hossain delivered the welcome speech. Diplomats from various countries, representatives of international organisations and NGOs were present.
