Unity of anti-fascist parties essential to sustain democracy: Water Resources Minister

He said these things as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled 'What political parties should do in the simultaneous patriotic movement to counter the threat of anti-independence forces to annul democracy' held today at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury alleged that it has not been even six months since the government took charge, yet the opposition parties want to topple the government and take power now. A government must be given time to be evaluated.

The minister further said that those who want to pave the way for fascist Hasina to return to the country in December will have to bear the responsibility for it. He said the people of this country have faced all conspiracies by staying on the streets. He also called for foiling any conspiracy from the streets in the days ahead.

Bir Muktijoddha Comrade Harun Chowdhury presided over the discussion meeting. Special guests present were Revolutionary Workers Party General Secretary Comrade Saiful Haque and Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Comrade Khan Md. Nure Alam, among others.
