Prime Minister's Adviser and Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Mahdi Amin said that the discussion between Prime Minister Tareq Rahman and representatives of 25 US companies was highly fruitful. He said effective discussions have taken place and work is underway to build Bangladesh as a self-reliant and prosperous country in the future.

He said these things to journalists after the meeting of the US-Bangladesh Business Council delegation at the Prime Minister's Office at 9:30 am on Thursday.
It has been learned that trade relations and prospects between Bangladesh and the United States were discussed in detail at the meeting. The delegation is being led by Oliver Simpson, Senior Vice President of the Business Council and Chief Commercial Officer of Accelerate Energy, and Atul Keshap, President for South Asia at the US Chamber of Commerce.

Former US ambassador Peter Haas, Nisha Desai and other diplomats and members of the Business Council were also present at the meeting.
Earlier, on Wednesday (August 12), the US-Bangladesh Business Council delegation paid a courtesy call on Humayun Kabir, the Prime Minister's adviser on foreign affairs, at the Prime Minister's Office.
