Jamaat criticises BNP meeting at Secretariat

After submitting the nomination paper of Oli Ahmed, the presidential candidate of the 11-party alliance led by Jamaat, to the Election Commission on Thursday (13 August), Hamidur Rahman Azad, coordinator of the alliance and assistant secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, spoke about this.

He said, 'We also want to protest one thing. The Secretariat is an executive place. We have no record of a top-level meeting of a political party being held here. They are doing this. So how do they view democracy? If it is like my party, democracy; otherwise, dictatorship.'

The coordinator of the 11-party alliance said that Jamaat Amir Shafiqur Rahman signed as proposer and Abdullah Al-Amin of NCP signed as seconder on Oli Ahmed's nomination paper.
