Former law adviser and professor Asif Nazrul has commented that after many years, Bangladesh is going to get a qualified person for the post of president.
He made this comment upon the news that BNP has nominated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the new president.

Congratulating Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on social media Facebook, Asif Nazrul wrote, 'Bangladesh's new president is going to be Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Congratulations, Fakhrul bhai.'

Criticizing those who previously held the presidency, he wrote, 'For two decades, unworthy people occupied this highest constitutional post of Bangladesh. Some of them were incompetent, some were infirm, some were extremely immoral.'
