CNG drivers block roads in Chattogram over gas shortage

The drivers alleged that they have been waiting in front of filling stations for more than 24 hours but are not getting gas. The authorities cannot say when supply will return to normal. Driver Mizan said, "Without gas, I cannot drive the vehicle, making it difficult to run the family." Another driver, Rahmat, said, "There has been no income for two days, yet I have to pay the vehicle installment and household expenses."

An official of Fossil Filling Station in Solashahar said they are unable to supply gas due to lack of supply. OC of Panchlaish Police Station Md. Zahedul Islam said police are trying to persuade the drivers to leave the spot. However, the drivers are not willing to vacate the road until they get assurance of gas supply. Due to the blockade, severe traffic congestion has been created in the area since morning.
