Big good news for Gemini users
Google has taken a new decision for its AI platform Gemini. Now AI-generated images, videos, or songs will no longer require clearly visible watermarks. Gemini users can easily turn this feature off or on if they want.

Tech news outlet TechCrunch confirmed Google's move in a report on Friday.

Often in professional work or digital design, the visible AI watermark looks out of place and spoils the natural aesthetic of the work. Google is bringing this feature to its various AI models, including Gemini and Flow, to make the work of creators and professionals easier and more visually appealing.

However, even if the visible watermark is removed, the ability to detect AI-generated content is not being disabled. Google Gemini's vice president Josh Woodward said that even though there will be an option to remove the visible watermark, a special hidden watermark or information called 'SynthID' created by Google will remain embedded inside the content. Even though it cannot be seen with the naked eye, it can be verified through advanced technology to determine whether the image was made by AI.

Within the next few days, users will get the option to turn the visible watermark on or off in Gemini's settings as they prefer.

In addition, Google is unveiling a new software called 'Credencio', with the help of which creators can add a local system for verifying AI content on their own platform or software.

Essentially, this strategic move by Google is to outpace other tech companies in the fight to ensure the authenticity and identity of AI content, and to give users more freedom.
