Dua and Milad Mahfil in Kishoreganj seeking forgiveness for Khaleda Zia's soul

At this dua mahfil organized by district BNP at Nur Mosque in Kishoreganj city today, Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku MP, State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam MP, and Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj-1 constituency Mazharul Islam, along with leaders of BNP and its associate organizations, participated.

In the dua mahfil, Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid said, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is a rare personality in Bangladesh politics. It is difficult to find a second leader as respectable and self-sacrificing as her in the world. She has been in politics for a long time to establish democracy and for the welfare of the people of the country, and she did not bow down to injustice despite various adversities.

The minister said, the important chapters of Bangladesh's history are deeply associated with Begum Khaleda Zia's political life. She became the Prime Minister of Bangladesh three times. Due to her struggle and sacrifice for democracy, she has become known to the people as the 'Mother of Democracy'.

Tomorrow, 16 August, the national-level inaugural ceremony of National Fisheries Week-2026 will be held at Katiyadi in Kishoreganj, the minister said. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will be present at the event and will award gold medals to 14 selected fishermen and fish farmers from different regions of the country. This is a matter of great pride and fortune for the residents of Kishoreganj. The minister sought the cooperation of local people to complete tomorrow's programme successfully, beautifully and in an orderly manner.

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku MP said, 'The Zia family means Bangladesh; the Zia family is the symbol of Bangladesh's independence-sovereignty and democracy.' He said, despite various adversities in political life, even personal grief like losing a child, Begum Khaleda Zia did not move from her ideals and position.

He urged everyone to cooperate to complete tomorrow's national-level programme successfully, beautifully and in an orderly manner. At the same time, urging everyone to pray for Begum Khaleda Zia, he said, prayers also need to be offered for those who contributed to the struggle to establish democracy and people's rights in Bangladesh.

At the dua mahfil, prayers were offered for the good health and long life of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and for the forgiveness of the souls of late former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and Arafat Rahman Koko. A special munajat was also offered seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country.
