Government to announce new pay scale within this year: Finance Minister

The finance minister told reporters this information after a meeting on the pay scale at the Ministry of Finance on Monday afternoon.

The minister said further detailed discussion is needed on this matter. Therefore, the relevant authorities will sit for another meeting.

The finance minister also assured that the pay scale will be implemented on time. He said the new pay scale will be implemented within this year.

He said after taking a final and comprehensive decision on the pay scale, it will be formally presented before everyone. The government is considering all matters with utmost importance in announcing the pay scale.
