Contract tenure of Cabinet Secretary and Public Administration Secretary extended

On Monday (August 17), the Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications in this regard.

Previously, on 16 February 2026, Nasimul Gani was appointed on contract to the post of Cabinet Secretary. After the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August 2024, he took up contractual responsibility as Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs on 22 December of that year.

Nasimul Gani is an officer of the administration cadre of the BCS 1982 batch. In 2009, he was made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Ministry of Public Administration, and after remaining OSD for four years, he was retired from service in 2013.

On the other hand, Md. Ehshanul Haque was appointed on contract to the post of Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on 12 October 2025. Earlier, he was Senior Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division.
