BAJUS said the new price has been fixed considering the overall situation as the price of raw gold (pure gold) in the local market increased.
According to the new price, with VAT, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) in the country's market is Tk 236,779.

The price is Tk 226,165 per bhori for 21-carat gold, Tk 194,206 for 18-carat gold, and Tk 158,630 per bhori for traditional-method gold.
BAJUS said this price will remain effective in all jewellery establishments in the country until a further decision is taken. However, making charges will apply depending on the design of the ornament. As VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
Earlier, on August 14, BAJUS had reduced the price of gold by Tk 2,158 per bhori.
