MPs will vote according to their party’s decision: Home Minister

He said, the constitution has not been amended yet. So this vote for the presidential election will be held according to what is in our existing constitution.

He said this while talking to journalists before entering the National Parliament on Thursday (August 20). The Home Minister said that after 35 years, the presidential election is going to be held according to the constitution.

Here, there are candidates from the opposition side as well as from the ruling party side—whereas in between, many times the president was elected uncontested.
