The MPs who did not vote are—BNP's Mirza Abbas, Dr. Osman Faruk and Mostafa Kamal Pasha; expelled Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker Gazi Nazrul Islam; Abul Hasan of Khilafat Majlis and independent lawmaker Rumin Farhana.

After voting at the Jatiya Sangsad from 2pm to 5pm on Thursday, BNP candidate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir won with 255 votes. The 11-party unity candidate Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmad got 88 votes.
There were a total of 349 voters in the presidential election. As six did not vote, a total of 343 votes were cast.
