Benapole Immigration Officer-in-Charge Saifur Rahman Khan said that after the bodies arrive in the country, they will be handed over to relatives after completing necessary formalities.
Bodies of 7 Bangladeshis killed in Kolkata returning home tonight
Fire broke out at 'Shikha Inn' hotel around 2 am on Tuesday night. Thick black smoke spread with the fire, leaving many trapped inside the building. In the incident, nine people including seven Bangladeshis and two Indians were killed. At least 60 to 70 people were rescued.
Among the deceased Bangladeshis are four from the same family in Kushtia. They are Devashish Datta, his wife Afsana Sharmin, their three-year-old son Shornashish Datta, and Devashish's father-in-law Md. Akram Ali. The other three are Babu Ahmed from Savar, Rebati Sarkar and S M Alimuzzaman from Satkhira.

After post-mortem and necessary legal procedures, bodies are being sent to the country. The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata and Kolkata Police are coordinating.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed at New Market police station in Kolkata over the fire. A special investigation team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the Detective Department of Lalbagh has also been formed.
